Representing Me
The collage represents my biggest interests and the things I care most about. The first layer is a photo of me, so everything on top of it is what I associate with my personality. The next is row of books, because I love to read about other worlds that people have come up with, and it makes me think about what kind of things I want to make. The third layer is a sketchbook and a pencil, which shows how much I like to draw, and it’s also my biggest creative outlet. After that is picture of one of my dogs, because I’ve grown up with animals and I’m not sure how I could be happy without them. The next is my pair of headphones, representing music, probably the thing I care most about besides my family. I play clarinet and I love being in band, and I’m constantly listening to music. These are definitely the biggest factors that make up who am, and how I spend almost all my time.

I'm much happier with my double exposure than my selfie. There's not too much to focus on, and it just looks neater without the spots I missed when I was erasing on my selfie. At first I didn't know what to use as the part of the image that wasn't me, but I ended up using the blooming Christmas cactus that's been sitting in our kitchen for several years. I had a hard time positioning the flower so there wasn't too much empty space between the petals, but it turned out better than I thought it would. There are some streaks on the petals as well, which made it a little bit grainy, but I think it looks as good as I could have made it.
